Custom Tattoo Form
I create all of my custom artwork in advance, so you will receive your artwork for approval, prior to your appointment! If you decide not to follow through with the customized artwork, I retain the rights to it exclusively. Here is a list of what I am most interested in creating for custom projects: -magickal beings & mythical creatures -flora & fauna & bugs -faeries -folk art -ocean animals & plants -faceless forms & Queer forms/content -crystals & stars/planets & magick dust I will not tattoo culturally appropriated material, imagery/languages that are not part of your cultural heritage (e.g. yin yangs/unalomes/mandalas/aum/Greek lore/koi fish etc), religious content, or any sexist, racist, or queerphobic material. Wander + Whim is an appointment only studio and is located at 291 Wallace street, in the Old City Quarter of Nanaimo BC, Vancouver Island.
Walk-in appointments are not available.
This is a small space, please do not bring guests unless you require assistance! If you need a support person with you, please connect with me or your artist beforehand and we will work to accommodate you!
Wander + Whim is a VIHA approved, fully licensed and fully insured Tattoo Studio. I have 12 years experience in the industry and I regularly continue my education in order to provide services best aligned with the health and safety requirements established by the BC and VIHA. As well as adhering to and exceeding, current safety standards, I extend every effort to be ethical and sustainable.
Wander + Whim is eco-responsible! I only utilize high quality, reputable, biodegradable, petroleum free products and vegan inks. Wander + Whim is proudly single use/non-recyclable plastic free.
I make illustrative, bold and whimsical tattoos, I only tattoo in my own art style, I will not replicate other artists work. Please be sure that you would be happy with a tattoo in my own art style before booking! Please do not use AI to generate references or examples for your tattoo appointment.
Flash is repeatable, unless noted otherwise! I usually only repeat flash 3x. I am happy to create a bespoke piece based on claimed flash. A limited amount of custom tattoo requests are taken every booking cycle! Priority is given to work in my preferred themes. Here is a list of what I am most interested in creating for custom projects:

I am booking projects 4” and up, no smaller, as I am focusing on flash & custom projects that allow me to be creative and expansive in my designs.
However I do offer hand/finger tattoos sets at a flat rate! I also offer add-on donation tattoos, to existing requests/appointments for larger pieces.
In order to book an appointment and before I will begin any custom projects a NON-refundable fee is required. Fees are not deducted from your total cost. These fees cover my art & administrative time. Flash booking fees are $60, Custom art fees are $85.

Tattoos are priced PER PIECE, not per hour. GST is included in every quote. Your quote is based on the following criteria: the local average of $190/hr & placement/size/complexity!

As in any personal service industry, tips are greatly appreciated!
Please arrive well hydrated, freshly showered, and having eaten a meal within 2 hours of the appointment time. It is beneficial to thoroughly moisturize the area to be tattooed, daily, in the week leading up to your appointment.
If you arrive intoxicated, altered, or hungover I will not tattoo you.
Leave the protective barrier on your tattoo for 24-72 hours. Shower normally, avoid scrubbing the barrier. Do not soak.
To remove the Saniderm bandage, pull from the top of the tattoo downwards as closely to the skin as possible. DO not pull out away from the skin! It is best to remove Saniderm after a shower.
Once uncovered, wash gently with clean hands, warm water and scent free soap. Pat dry with paper towel. Do this twice a day!
24 hours after removing your bandage, you can begin moisturizing your new tattoo once or twice a day, after washings. Use only mild, unscented moisturizers sparingly!
For about 24 hours your new tattoo may be tender, it may be slightly swollen and the surrounding skin may be slightly pink!
If any excessive redness, swelling or irritation occurs - especially for longer than 48 hours, please seek medical attention and contact your tattooist.
Should your tattoo require it, I am happy to offer a touchup! It is important to me that you feel your tattoo is complete. Touchups must be requested via booking form. If booked along with a new tattoo appointment, your touchup if free. If booked alone, you will be charged a setup/equipment fee of $50-75, depending on the scale of work.
I am happy to tattoo hands and feet but please be aware, before you choose this placement, that these are high fall out areas. Touch ups on hands and feet will ALWAYS require a fee.
